The Lion in Goodluck Jonathan finally comes out, blasts Jega for disappointing him during 2015 elections

“I was disappointed by Jega because I still cannot understand what was propelling him to act the way he did in the weeks preceding the election,”

"As at the first week in February 2015 when about 40 percent of Nigerians had not collected their PVCs, Jega said INEC was ready to conduct an election in which millions of people would be disenfranchised.”

“Of course, the Americans were encouraging him to go ahead yet they would never do such a thing in their own country. How could we have cynically disenfranchised about a third of our registered voters for no fault of theirs and still call that a credible election?”
“The interesting thing was that the opposition also supported the idea of going on with the election that was bound to end in confusion,” - Ex-President Goodluck Jonathan
Also, recall that the ex-president also made this statement while he was president;
“Some Nigerians still want the President of this country to be a lion or a tiger; somebody that has the kind of strength, force and agility to make things happen the way they think.
“I don’t need to be a lion, I don’t need to be Nebuchadnezzar, I don’t need to operate like the Pharaoh of Egypt, and I don’t need to be an army general. I can change this country without those traits,”

  • He made the above statement regarding 2015 election in Segun Adeniyi's book titled 'Against the run of Play' due for launch on Friday 28 April, 2017.
Our take on the matter
  • If you'd allowed this lion in you to come out then justifyingly, INEC would have been up and doing in ensuring PVCs were ready for all
  • If this is true then Karma is a .... considering the alleged interference of Russia in America's elections that saw Trump emerge as President.
