Sound bites or genuine words? President Buhari says FG in touch with Chibok girls' captors to secure their release

“Furthermore, government is in constant touch through negotiations, through local intelligence to secure the release of the remaining girls and other abducted persons unharmed.” - Muhammadu Buhari, President Federal Republic of Nigeria

Background
  • It's been three years since 276 Chibok girls were abducted out of which 24 were released through negotiations.
  • The President through Femi Adesina his spokesman released a statement assuring Nigerians of the government's unrelenting effort to secure the release of the remaining girls.
Our take on the matter
  • Three years is a long time already. The Buhari led administration need to step up their efforts to secure the release of these girls.
  • The tactic used in securing the release of the 24 girls, what happened to it? The FG should consolidate on that and give us more cheering news and not sound bites.
Conclusion
  • Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life. True words.
